"Till date, around 81 lakh Aadhaar numbers have been deactivated," the clergyman educated the Parliament on Friday.

The Aadhaar numbers were deactivated for various reasons expressed in Section 27 and 28 of Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations, 2016. "Before the order of the Aadhaar Act, 2016, the deactivation (suspension) of Aadhaar numbers was done according to the Aadhaar Life Cycle Management (ALCM) rule," Chaudhary said.

Aadhar is a 12-digit ID number issued to a person after the receipt of statistic data, for example, address, date of birth and biometric data, for example, iris filter, fingerprints and so forth.
He included that the provincial workplaces of the UIDAI have the expert to deactivate the Aadhaar numbers.

An Aadhaar number is 2-digit biometrics based character number issued by the UIDAI.

Aadhar is gradually turning into the most imperative record to have. Be it documenting your wage government forms, wherein connecting Aadhar to PAN card has turned out to be compulsory, to get a driving permit, making land bargains or proceeding with the share trading system exchange, you would require Aadhar in all these.

On UIDAI's site, there is a choice accessible to check the status of one's Aadhaar number, as in whether the number is as yet substantial or not.

Here's the manner by which you can check the status of your Aadhaar on the web:

Log on to the UIDAI website - https://uidai.gov.in/
  •      Under the 'Aadhaar Services' tab, click the 'Verify Aadhaar Number’ link

  •      A click on the ‘Verify Aadhaar Number’ tab will take the user to a new page. Now, fill the        number Aadhaar and the security code and click'Verify':
                                      https://resident.uidai.gov.in/aadhaarverification

For active Aadhaar numbers, a message confirming the status of the Aadhaar number will appear. The page also displays basic information such as age band, state and the last three digits of the registered mobile number

Be that as it may, on account of invalid Aadhaar numbers, the page says the number "doesn't exist" toward the finish of the confirmation procedure.
